Big Sleeper Coin. Very Nice Uncirculated Flash Still Remains. Attractive and Very Rare San Francisco $5 Gold. 1868-S $5 Liberty Gold Half Eagle, NGC AU-55. Mintage = 52,000 coins -- only 246 total coins known to survive. Just 6 coins are graded uncirculated by both services -- VERY rare in AU. Most 1868-S coins have a weak S, this one is very strong. Very nice uncirculated flash with even attractive gold toning and minimum marks -- "faces up" VERY nicely. NGC has graded 22 AU55 coins, with 10 higher. Zero problems guaranteed.
