This classic early gold issue from the formative years of the United States Mint displays rich yellow-gold coloration with strong underlying luster and well-preserved design detail throughout. Liberty's hair curls and cap are boldly rendered, while the heraldic eagle reverse exhibits sharp feather definition and pleasing visual balance. Light field marks consistent with the grade are present, but they do little to detract from the coin's overall eye appeal. A modest 44,344 minted with an estimated 650 to 850 known.
