A prized Southern gold rarity with a mintage of 12,822 and an estimated 175 survivors in all grades, raw and certified, according to PCGS. This AU58 example retains strong detail with only light wear on the high points, complemented by pleasing original surfaces and a warm, rich gold patina. Traces of underlying luster remain evident, particularly around the protected areas, enhancing overall eye appeal. Well struck for the issue, with bold central definition and clear legends. An attractive near-Mint example of this challenging and historically significant Charlotte mint coin.
