One of the most celebrated coins in American numismatics. These Augustus St. Gaudens designed High Reliefs were struck with extraordinary detail and bold relief, requiring multiple blows of the press. This example is outstanding for the grade with choice original surfaces that radiate with vibrant golden luster, while the devices remain sharp and deeply defined. A very few scattered minor abrasions are present, consistent with the grade, but the overall eye appeal remains strong and dynamic. Only 11,250 High Reliefs were struck before the Mint transitioned to the lower-relief design later in 1907.
