Russell writes, “This is an exceptionally well-preserved toned example of one of the more difficult dates for the Barber dime series. Best reasonable offers will be strongly considered.”The 1893-O Barber Dime, struck at the New Orleans Mint with a mintage of 1,500,000 pieces, stands as one of the scarcer dates in the series when found in high grade. PCGS has graded 12 as MS66 with only 6 finer. Collector’s Universe (CU) gives this issue a price of $4,750 in MS66. Therefore, buy this coin and you will SAVE $600 OFF the CU price!Charles Barber’s elegant Liberty Head design displays full definition in the hair waves, laurel leaves, and wreath details. The obverse exhibits rich red-gold-yellow toning, while the reverse carries the same toning with the addition of deep aqua around the rim. Light die polish lines and a sharp strike characterize the 1893-O issue, and this coin preserves those traits without distraction from contact marks and hairlines. A remarkable survivor from a noteworthy Southern branch mint issue.
