United States, 4 Cinq. An exceptional Mint State example of America???s first authorized coinage, the 1787 Fugio Cent. Struck in copper following Benjamin Franklin???s famous design, this historic issue features the radiant sun and sundial with the admonition ???Mind Your Business,??? a uniquely American message reflecting industry and self-reliance. This specimen exhibits remarkably bold design elements, with strong definition to the sun rays, sundial, and surrounding legends. The reverse displays the linked chain of thirteen rings encircling ???We Are One,??? symbolizing unity among the original states. Surfaces retain pleasing, even chocolate-brown coloration with lighter highlights, and the planchet shows only minor, expected imperfections consistent with early federal copper coinage. A sharply preserved, visually appealing Fugio Cent!
