Original, Cohen 1. A rare early Proof striking with an estimated 12 coins known. This lightly circulated example displays deep, original chocolate-brown color and strong detail. Liberty???s portrait is sharply rendered, with crisp star detail and finely defined hair curls. The reverse wreath and lettering are bold and precise, displaying the meticulous preparation typical of early Proof coinage. Well-preserved surfaces are problem-free with attractive eye appeal. A rare and desirable Proof issue.
