Spanish Colony. Alfonso XII Mint Error - Partial Collar 10 Centavos 1885 Fine 15 NGC, Manila mint, KM148, Cal-102, Basso-64e. A difficult emission in stark contrast to the previous 10 Centavos of Mahal we handled, yet equally an enticing as a coveted Mint Error. While subtle, the piece clearly exhibits having been struck in collar and clearly overlooked, having experienced extensive use in commerce. While 10 Centavos of this date are easy to locate in comparable preservations, errors from the Spanish colonial remain notoriously difficult, making this a prime opportunity for any error collector.
