Maryland April 10, 1774 $8 PCGS Banknote Choice VF 35 Details. The Maryland coat of arms, featuring the motto CRESCITE ET MULTIPLICAMINI (Increase and Multiply) is featured at left on the front. The nature print on the back, developed as an anti-counterfeiting device by Benjamin Franklin, remains very attractive on this odd denomination note that has some stains.
