Massachusetts October 16, 1778 2d PCGS Apparent Very Fine 30. The 2 Pence value was the lowest denomination authorized as part of this 1778 £8,000 emission. Two iconic symbols of Massachusetts, the cod fish and pine tree were featured, with Paul Revere printing the faces of these notes. The note is well printed on good paper with clear design features and eight full margins. The signature of Jonathan Brown is dark and bold. PCGS mentions restorations which are difficult to identify through the holder but include edge repairs and an approximate 1/2" sealed internal tear at center.
