South Carolina June 1, 1775 £20 PCGS Apparent Very Fine 25. The South Carolina Provincial Congress authorized £1,000,000 in Certificates on June 14, 1775. This £20 certificate features an emblem on the face depicting two clasping hands with the motto FIDES PUBLICA (Public Trust) while the back has a rather impressive design inscribed FOR THE PUBLICK [sic] GOOD.
