Iran Kingdom of Persia, Imperial Bank 20 Tomans, Teheran ND (1924-32) Pick 15s Specimen PMG Extremely Fine 40. A striking example of currency from the Kingdom of Persia. The 20 Tomans design stands out in the 1924–32 series as the first to display the Kiani crown, lion-and-sword Persian coat of arms on the back, and as the only denomination to feature the oval-framed portrait of Naser el-Din Shah Qajar placed in the upper right corner. The example offered here was printed for the Teheran branch. At time of cataloging, only seven examples are recorded in higher grades in the PMG Population Report. Ink stamps and staple holes are present. HID08101242017 www.HA.com/TexasAuctioneerLicenseNotice
