Ceylon Asiatic Banking Corporation, Kandy 1 Pound 1.11.1865 Pick S107a PMG Choice Fine 15. An always popular and quite rare early type from Ceylon. The Asiatic Banking Corporation was a famed bank in colonial Asia, but its banknote issuing stint was relatively brief, hence few issued banknotes and remainders are seen today. This large format note was issued in Kandy, Ceylon, and appears to have seen extensive circulation. The manuscript signatures and date remain bold and clear. Numerous ink and stamped notations on the uniface back add character to this fantastic type note. At the time of writing, PMG has graded only four examples of this Kandy variety.
