This is a very rare gold medal struck by the Netherlands Mint in 1945 just after the Dutch liberation. Only 6 examples were reportedly struck. The Silver issue (an example of which is included in this offering) is much more available. An auction search shows no examples sold in the past 50 years. The medal is in uncirculated condition  except that the wire edge; an artifact of the striking; was removed by filing it off. As such the label states: Details; rim filing. This may have been done at the mint; or later. It is unknown if this is unique to this medal or is found on all of them.
