As the first regular issue US Dime - and one of only two issues of the Draped Bust, Small Eagle design type - the 1796 is perennially popular! With no more than 20 Mint State survivors extant from a mintage of 22,135 coupled with high demand for date and type purposes, we are thrilled to offer this amazing NGC MS64! An impressively preserved example of the JR-1 variety, easily recognizable by the cud on the star to the left of the date and the die clashes seen on both sides. Fantastic concentric circles of rainbow toning on both sides. Boldly struck surfaces feature impressive reflectivity around the peripherals and become frosty towards the center.
