Rare restrike of the Confederate States of America half dollar. There are only 4 known of the originals, making these restrikes the only collectible designs. Still, only 500 were struck around 1879, making them very difficult in their own right. Deeply toned rose-grey surfaces are evenly colored with no distracting toning abnormalities. The obverse showcases strong luster with maybe a hint of wear. The reverse, still showing Seated Liberty, is evenly worn with minimal luster left. A fascinating coin with rich history, this piece is very desirable for collectors of Confederate coinage. Visit www.davidlawrence.com for more information on this coin and 7000+ more coins.
