1794 1/2 C Normal Head, Small Edge Letters, C-4a, B-6b, R.3, XF45 ANACS. Manley Die State 2.0, the rare semi-early state with clash marks but no bulge left of the date. The more plentiful Small Letters edge, per the ANACS attribution. The 1794 cent was the third lowest mintage of the short-lived four-year design, and the Mint produced just 81,600 pieces per official records. This chocolate-brown example is largely free from marks. The obverse is remarkably strong and is the highlight of this coin, though it also shows the TY in LIBERTY weak from a filled die. From The Cole Carter Collection.
