1795 1C Plain Edge, S-78, B-8, R.1, MS63 Brown PCGS. The 1795 plain edge large cents were minted in late December 1795, or during the first few weeks of 1796 before the 1796 Liberty Cap cents were struck. This sharply defined Select Mint State piece has been off the market for nearly 50 years since its last auction appearance in 1979. Both sides displaying lovely medium brown surfaces with traces of faded mint red close to the letters and devices. Although the variety is common, high-grade examples are seldom encountered.
