1825 1C N-3, R.3, MS65 Brown PCGS. An impressive example, this 1825 N-3 cent with its century-old provenance is one of just six examples graded Mint State in the Noyes-Lusk database. The strike is precise with lustrous brown surfaces that exhibit emerald and iridescent overtones. A prominent streak of rose color at the right side of the reverse identifies this Gem cent that is tied with two others for the fourth finest from this die pair. PCGS Population for all 1825 varieties: 8 in 65 (2 in 65+) Brown, 2 finer (4/26). Ex: Allison W. Jackman (Henry Chapman, 6/1918), lot 764; Wayte Raymond; Henry C. Hines; Homer K.
