1814 1C Crosslet 4, S-294, B-1, R.1, AU58 PCGS. CAC. Die State I. Only two die pairs were used for the final year of the Classic Head cent, differentiated by the crosslet on the 4 within the date. This example entices with rich espresso-brown luster with some lighter crema tones in its recesses. There are no major blemishes that would detract from its alluring appeal. The strike is largely strong showing only minute weakness within the hair, though this is hardly perceptible. A few small spots appear in the left reverse margin near the dentils.
