1879-CC $1 AU50 NGC. VAM-2C. The 1879 issue is the second scarcest Morgan dollar from the Carson City Mint and has become a semikey date. Frosted silver luster envelops this example with some slight hints of gold toning developing around the ridges. While the strike is largely strong, there are notes of the expected weakness along the breast feathers and the locks just above Liberty’s ear.
