1879-CC $1 Capped Die, VAM-3, AU55 PCGS. A Top 100 Variety. The coin is awash with brilliant sterling silver luster, with notes of gold and brown patina developing. This example is largely free of notable abrasions, though a scratch runs between the LA in DOLLAR and just below the arrows. The strike is excellent with strong detailing on the hair and breast feathers. The 1879-CC is the first semikey date of the series and will be an admirable acquisition for both series and Carson City collectors. From The Cole Carter Collection.
