1879-CC $1 Capped Die, VAM-3A, MS61 NGC. A Top 100 variety. This state of the Capped Die variety is recognizable via the three die lines which extend from AM in AMERICA as well as the adjacent eagle wings and the filled G in GOD. This example displays soft gray luster while russet-red toning around the rims while sapphire-blue begins to rest within the denticles. The strike is largely decent with minor weakness along the breast feathers as well as the hair lock above Liberty's ear. Shallow abrasions dot both the portrait and fields, but are negligible.
