1879-CC $1 Capped Die, VAM-3, MS62 PCGS. A Top 100 Variety. The 1879-CC VAM-3 Capped Die variety is easily identified by its iconic mintmark with a Large CC punched over a Small CC. This MS62 example is a naturally toned rendering of this popular Old West variety, with hazy lavender-gray luster and a few jolts of electric blue and emerald along the edges. The strike is a bit soft on the centers and a loupe reveals faint striations angling downward on the eagle's lower torso.
