1879-CC $1 Capped Die, VAM-3, GSA, MS61 ANACS. A Top 100 Variety. The Carson City Mint struck 756,000 Morgan dollars in 1879, and VAM-3, known as the "Capped Die" variety, is widely popular. The 1879-CC saw heavy circulation and is challenging in Mint State. This MS61 is certified by ANACS within its original GSA holder. Well-detailed design elements display typical softness on the centers, and light, scattered marks define the grade. The frosty, brilliant surfaces release an appealing cartwheel effect.
