1883/2 5C FS-301 MS63 NGC. CAC. FS-301 is the most prominent of the 1883/2 Shield nickel overdate varieties, with all four numerals showing the 1882 undertype. The 2 is prominently visible in the field left of the 3. Mint State examples of any 1883/2 variety are scarce, and those attributed as FS-301 are in the minority. This Select CAC coin displays satiny, champagne-tinged luster and boldly struck motifs, including the often troublesome horizontal shield lines. No major abrasions are apparent.
