ATTICA. Athens. 2nd-1st Centuries BC. AR fourée tetradrachm (29mm, 13.91 gm, 11h). NGC XF 5/5 - 3/5, core visible, graffito. Ancient imitation of New Style coinage, ca. 136/135 BC, 1st month, Hera-, Aristoph- and Aristok-, magistrates. Head of Athena right wearing triple-crested Attic helmet, ornamented with leaping Pegasus above upturned cheek flap, vine scroll on bowl, protomes of four horses on visor / A-TE / HPA / API-STOF / APIST/OK, owl standing facing on overturned amphora engraved with A (month); lion skin on club and bow in case in left field, HP (engraver) below, all within olive wreath.
