Charles III 8 Reales 1769 PTS-JR AU58 NGC, Potosi mint, KM50, Cal-1164. Fancy/Straight 9, dot after CAROLUS variety. A covetable and penultimate example of Potosi's Pillar series, retaining the lion's share of detail from the original strike, with only minimal rub to the high points, falling just short of a Mint State designation. A bloom of toning on the reverse adds an element of asymmetry to this generally wholesome piece.
