Franz Joseph I gold "Graz Shooting Festival" Medal of 4 Ducats 1889 MS65 PCGS, Hauser-5156, Frühwald-1916, Horsky-3845, Wurzbach-2525, Pelt-1871, Steulman-IIII. By Jauner. Plain edge. 36mm. 13.70gm. Emperor Franz Joseph I standing in hunting garb in mountain landscape // Shield of Styria, supported by lions. Struck for the shooting competition in Graz. Incredibly detailed and impressively struck, leaving every finely engraved motif fully embossed on a golden planchet beneath. Extremely rare as unfortunately many Prooflike spurious examples were once certified by PCGS; these have now been removed from the population report, leaving this as the sole example in gold, and incredibly desirable as such.
