Ferdinand III gold 2 Ducats 1643 AU58 NGC, Prague mint, KM458, Fr-46j. 6.89gm. Deceptively scarce, as this is a type that seldom appears in public sales. Given the beauty of this particular piece, one better understands why it might remain in strong hands, as a pretty patina of rose and orange overlays the warmly lustrous surfaces. A relic that captures the dying embers of the Thirty Years' War, this would make for a welcome addition to an advanced gold cabinet. Only two have been certified by NGC with none graded higher.
