Christian V gold 2 Ducat ND (1670-1699) MS61 NGC, Christiania mint, KM138 (1679 date listed), Fr-8, Bruun-10497. 6.89gm. An exceptionally difficult double ducat to acquire, with the only other recorded example of this type residing in the Danish National Museum. This remarkable specimen is presented in an impeccable Mint State preservation, which is further confirmed when one inspects the piece, as every element portrays hardly a trace weakness, with only minor fading most evident on the reverse lion. A gentle tilt reveals an attractive underlying sheen, further enhancing this remarkably well-preserved specimen despite its being struck over three centuries ago. Ex.
