British Protectorate. Sultan Ali Bin Hamud 10 Cents 1908 MS63 Brown NGC, Heaton mint, KM9, Sweeny-ZZ3. According to James Sweeny's book, A Numismatic History of the Birmingham Mint, none of the 1908 Zanzibar series (1, 10, and 20 Cents) were released into circulation, while Jerome Remick says there are no more than 20 to 60 pieces of each extant. The intriguing obverse and reverse designs look picture perfect atop the glossy surfaces that reveal hues of blue and purple under the light. Quite an attractive and unique offering.
