1805 1/2 C No Stems, Small 5, C-1, B-1, R.1, MS62 Brown PCGS. Ex; Richard August Collection. Beautiful chocolate-brown surfaces contain hints of original Mint Red in the protected areas, as well as green highlights on the reverse. Only a hint of weakness exists on the uppermost strands of hair. While the C-1, and its corresponding Small 5, Stemless variety in the Guide Book, are the most available of the date, examples are still difficult to locate in Mint State.
