1855 1/2 C C-1, B-1, R.1, MS65 Red CACG. Most of the obverse and reverse border details are present on this lovely Gem that exhibits brilliant orange mint luster. Many years ago, a small hoard of brilliant Red 1855 half cents appeared on the market, although most of those examples, unlike the present piece, had myriad carbon spots. This Gem ranks among the finest that we have offered. PCGS has designated a solitary submission finer than this example that is tied for the best examined at CAC or NGC.
