1803 50C Large 3, Small Reverse Stars, 12 Arrows, O-101, T-1, R.3, XF45 PCGS. Tompkins Die State 2/2. Blue-steel and rose hues adorn light-gray surfaces. All abrasions are vanishingly minor, with none requiring individual mention. Wear is even. The O-101, T-1 is the first die marriage produced for the year. Its reverse utilizes the Small Reverse Stars punch carried over from 1802, and the date exhibits a Large 3, which contains a bidirectional top serif. The present offering is an intermediate die state, with the die crack atop LIBERTY, but no clashing of the date over the ES in STATES.
