1807 50C Draped Bust, O-109a, T-2, Low R.4, MS61 NGC. Tompkins Die State 4/2. Caramel and russet toning predominates, complemented with some rose on the reverse along with slight blue-steel coloration at the periphery of the obverse and lower reverse. Striking weakness is apparent in the centers of both sides. This is an example of the O-109 die marriage, one of the more common pairings of the year. However, it is a near-terminal die state, lacking only the cuds around the left side stars that differentiate the so-called O-109b sub-variety. HID06601242017 www.HA.com/TexasAuctioneerLicenseNotice
