1811/10 50C Small 8, O-101, R.1, MS63 PCGS. Faint gold toning accents surfaces filled with brilliant mint luster. This obverse is defined by the blurry dot that punctuates the date between 81 as well as the spike from the top fold of Liberty's cap. The scroll ending under the A in AMERICA confirms the attribution as the O-101, the more common of the two 1811/10 die marriages. The present example is a late die state, with weak dentils, stars drawn to edge, and die clashing above the eagle's head, in the shield, and in the left obverse field. Ex: Bust Coins Showcase (Heritage, 9/2023), lot 53124. From The Van Cleve Family Collection. HID06601242017 www.HA.com/TexasAuctioneerLicenseNotice
