1812 50C Large 8, O-110, R.1, MS65+ PCGS. BHNC Die State 110.1. Silver surfaces contain hints of deeper steel as well as splashes of mustard and russet-brown throughout both sides, making for a wonderful display of color. Striking weakness is limited to the end of the bust and surrounding stars on the obverse, with even more minimal and less noticeable regions on the reverse around ITED S. The lack of abrasions and significant luster establish the high grade of this coin. This coin is a representative of the O-110 die marriage, one of the most common of the year. It is struck from an early state of the dies, with neither the obverse crack into the drapery nor the reverse crack at the bases of UNITED STAT, and before lapping creates the famous "Single Leaf" terminal die state that the O-110 is most known for.
