1862 G$1 MS66 NGC. This conditionally rare Premium Gem gold dollar is remarkably well-struck with deep Midas-gold luster providing outstanding eye appeal. The 1862 mintage (more than 1.3 million coins) represents the largest distribution for the denomination from that year onward. Although the 1862 is readily available in Mint State, it is seldom seen with this quality. NGC Census: 50 in 66 (3 in 66+, 1 in 66 S), 7 finer (7/26).
