1888 G$1 JD-1, High R.4, PR65 Cameo PCGS. CAC. The late-series proof gold dollars (1884-1889) reflect rising mintages because these small coins became widely popular for jewelry and gift purposes. The Mint struck 1,079 proofs in 1888 and though the issue has survived well, Cameo examples are challenging in higher grades. This Gem proof displays brilliant orange-gold surfaces with deeply mirrored fields and sharp, lustrous devices. Well-frosted motifs are rewarded by the Cameo designation and CAC endorsement attests to the coin's overall quality. PCGS Population: 17 in 65 Cameo (2 in 65+ Cameo), 12 finer. CAC: 8 in 65 Cameo. (6/26). HID06601242017 www.HA.com/TexasAuctioneerLicenseNotice
