Lindsay, CA - $10 1902 Plain Back Fr. 627 The Lindsay National Bank Ch. # (P)9710 PMG Very Fine 25. A wonderful California rarity that is easily the finest of just two notes reported from this short-lived Tulare County bank and the only example that has ever appeared at public sale. Only in business from 1910 until 1922 when it was absorbed by a state-chartered LA bank, this Lindsay National issued only a handful of Date Backs and Plain Backs before it closed its doors. Last on the market in our 2019 Long Beach auction where it fetched a solid $33,600, this $10 is an evenly circulated piece with nice color and the bold pen signature of the bank's president. As mentioned, with the other known example never having made a public appearance, this offering may be the last chance for today's generation of collectors to obtain a note from this rare Golden State charter.
