Fr. 16c $1 1862 Legal Tender PMG Gem Uncirculated 65 EPQ. A gorgeous, well margined example, this Series 262 Legal Ace appears to have rolled off the press this morning rather than over 150 years ago. Series 1862 and 1863 $1 Legal Tenders have large designs, with little space between the notes on the sheet for large margins. However, this offering managed to survive the cutting process with more than ample margins all around. Combine that with its bright paper and blazing ink colors and this is a real winner of a note.
