Fr. 17 $1 1862 Legal Tender PMG Choice Fine 15. While 21 notes of this number are included in the latest Track & Price Census, examples are almost never offered publicly. Fr. 17 notes are characterized by a small red Type 1 Treasury Seal (with no spokes around the shield) which is printed over the lower left serial number. No ABNCo monogram is noticed at right. This particular piece has been off the public market for over a decade, having last sold publicly in 2013. Though well circulated with several tears, it retains bold red overprint and green protector colors. A mere six representatives of this number have been certified by PMG, with this piece being one of two encapsulated at the Choice Fine 15 level.
