Fr. 97 $10 1875 Legal Tender PMG Very Fine 30. Serial number A2031075 is one of only 18 examples recorded in Track & Price for Fr. 97. One of those is a Face Proof, while of the remaining 17 notes, we cannot find a single Fr. 97 that is locked away in an institutional museum. This is the second smallest population for a Jackass $10 with only the Fr. 109 having an even smaller population figure. The charming plate letter C mid-grade example in this lot has ample margins all the way around that reveal a partial plate number 10 in the margin at bottom center. Our examination concludes with this $10 rightfully residing in a comment free third party holder. The last Fr. 97 in the grade of PMG 30 that we auctioned had pinholes and still realized $12,000 in June 2021. Our current offering is solid for the third party grade and one of only a few examples, and therefore should bring considerably more. HID08101242017 www.HA.com/TexasAuctioneerLicenseNotice
