1857 1C MS65 PCGS. Snow-2b. Bright salmon and apricot luster characterizes this 1857 Flying Eagle cent, a Gem from the first year of the official circulation issue. This is a sharply struck coin that displays an interesting feature showing a patch of luster running from the eagle's body to the 5 in the date, possibly from an imbalance in the die surface. A thin, diagonal reddish toning line starts from the rim at 7 o'clock and bisects the obverse. Ex: Boston Signature / ANA (Heritage, 8/2010), lot 3864. From The West Texas Collection.
