1860 1C Pointed Bust, FS-401, MS65 PCGS. CAC. Lovely rose, aqua, and olive colors emerge when this crisply struck Gem is rotated under a light. An occasional microscopic carbon fleck and an unimportant mark on the shield are all that prevent an even finer grade. Rick Snow estimates only 1 of 20 1860 Indian Head cents are of the Pointed Bust type -- about 1,000,000 of the 20,566,000 total mintage of the Indian Cents produced in 1860 were struck from the transitional Pointed Bust of 1859 hub design. This Guide Book variety is rare in Gem Uncirculated or finer conditions. PCGS Population: 55 in 65 (5 in 65+), 24 finer (8/26). CAC: 2 in 65, 1 finer (9/26). Ex: Central States Signature (Heritage, 5/2004), lot 5320. From The West Texas Collection. HID06601242017 www.HA.com/TexasAuctioneerLicenseNotice
