1869 1C MS65 Red PCGS. Snow-5a. The fragile color on coins struck in copper and bronze means it is challenging to locate pieces of any significant age that have original mint luster. Early Indian cents certified in Red are especially elusive. This colorful Gem has been beautifully preserved for the past 157 years and displays vibrant orange-red mint color layered in radiant luster. The strike is sharp on both the obverse and the reverse, sides, even to the tips of the headdress despite die clashing on both sides. Only six numerically finer Red examples are reported at PCGS. PCGS Population: 35 in 65 (1 in 65+), 6 finer (8/26). Ex: Central States Signature (Heritage, 4/2002), lot 5086. From The West Texas Collection. HID06601242017 www.HA.com/TexasAuctioneerLicenseNotice
