1877 1C AU53 PCGS. Snow-2. Die Stage A/C. Rich chocolate-brown colors adorn this piece uniformly, with small hints of deepening tones in the reverse shield. The strike is strong, though it shows some weakness on the right obverse legends. Given the About Uncirculated grade of this piece, light wear as well as minor marks are as expected, but ultimately minimal to the eye appeal. Mint State examples of this key date issue are scarce, with AU-level pieces being a more accessible option for collectors. Among the 100 Greatest U.S. Coins (#85 in 6th edition).
