1862 1C PR66 PCGS. Snow-PR2. This Premium Gem proof displays a die state in which the fields were polished and the A in STATES is filled. Collectors who seek a stellar representative of the proof copper-nickel Indian cent series need look no further than this resplendent lot. A pinpoint-sharp strike raises the frosted design elements above flashy, glowing fields. The golden-tan color assumes attractive olive-brown colors when viewed at indirect angles, with the pleasingly colorful blend speaking volumes about this coin's originality. This coin is perhaps worthy of a Superb Gem rating if not for a short mark in the upper left obverse field. PCGS reports only three finer pieces in non-Cameo. PCGS Population: 3 in 66+, 3 finer (8/26). Ex: Central States Signature (Heritage, 5/2003), lot 5321. From The West Texas Collection. HID06601242017 www.HA.com/TexasAuctioneerLicenseNotice
