British North Borneo British North Borneo Company 1 Dollar 2.1.1922 Pick 15 PMG Very Fine 20. Considering that this note circulated over a century ago, the red ink of the denomination underprint remains clear and bright. This note features a vignette of Mount Kinabalu at top center beneath "British North Borneo Company " in an ornamental blackletter typeface. Although the vignette appears on the higher denominations of the 1886?1927 series, as well as the 1 Dollar of the later 1927?1938 issue, the example offered here represents its first appearance on British North Borneo paper money. Although ink bleed is mentioned on the holder, the note retains its strong eye appeal. HID08101242017 www.HA.com/TexasAuctioneerLicenseNotice
